Sahara 1 day This is a trip suggestion for people who want to experience an adventure in the Sahara in a short time. Departure from the hotel at approx. 6 am. At approx. 7 am we stop for a short break where you can buy sweet or salty snacks and drink delicious coffee Then we go to the highest viewpoint in the south where we admire beautiful views. We drive through a desert of pebbles and at approx. 11 am we reach the desert of sand to the oasis of Ksar Ghilane. At this point there is free time for a swim in the thermal pond, a walk in the desert or you can take a camel ride (15 euros/person) or on a quad (30 euros/1 quad-2 people). Ksar Ghilane is an oasis located almost 100 km deep in the desert and I knew it from the specific reddish color of the sand. Lunch is planned at this place. At approx. 1 pm we reach the Berber village of Tamazret. After a short stop, we continue our journey to the town of Matmata, inhabited mainly by Berbers. It is extremely interesting to visit a house dug into the ground. The fascinating “lunar landscape” around Matmata has become the setting for films such as “Star Wars” or “Planet of the Apes”. The last stop on our journey is the town of Toujane, which is divided into two parts by a valley. Return to Djerbe at approx. 6:00 p.m.
